๐Ÿฉธ My Sickle Cell Journey

My name is Jocelyn Johnson, and Iโ€™ve been a warrior since day one. Born and raised in Richmond, California, Iโ€™ve lived with sickle cell anemia my entire life. My first pain crisis came when I was just 11 months old โ€” a moment that began a lifelong journey through hospitals, pain, and pushing through unimaginable challenges.

But Iโ€™ve never let this disease define me.

Through every flare-up, every emergency room visit, every ounce of fatigue and fear โ€” Iโ€™ve chosen to keep fighting with resilience and grace.

One of the most life-changing moments Iโ€™ve faced happened when my 7-month-old daughter and I were in a serious Uber accident. We were both hospitalized for two months. It was terrifying โ€” physically and emotionally. But through it all, holding on for her and healing with her by my side gave me a renewed purpose. I discovered a strength in motherhood that changed everything.

๐Ÿ‘‘ More Than a Warrior

I am not just a sickle cell warrior โ€” I am a survivor, a mother, and a woman who continues to rise, no matter what life throws at me. My journey has tested me, but it has also refined me into someone powerful, resilient, and unshakably determined.
